Olivers plan to hire a fianc'e at one of Londons brothels quickly changes when he runs into Maria Butterfield. Not only is Maria an annoyingly outspoken commoner; she is American, which is enough to have Olivers grandmother quickly rescinding her decree. All Oliver has to do to secure Marias assistance is to help her find her own fianc', Nathan Hyatt, who vanished after arriving in London several weeks ago. There is just one small problem: once Oliver locates Marias fianc', he may find it difficult to let the lady go.
